Jordan is still without a car as Pike is working on her Volkswagen. She calls Cole to pick her up from Grounders, but Cole sends Jay, her ex-boyfriend, to get her instead. Jordan refuses to go with Jay, with whom she feels unsafe. After Jay drives away, Jordan is unsure of whom to call to get her. Walking back home at this hour is unfeasible. Just then, Pike calls her phone, wondering why Jordan is not home. Though Jordan is tempted to ask Pike to pick her up, she tells him that she is out with Cole. Pike and Jordan banter for a bit, with Jordan teasing Pike about seeing someone. Pike reassures her that he is not dating and that Jordan will not be walking in on strange women. Jordan hangs up and dozes off, reflecting that Cole has recently been the last person to whom she has spoken to before falling asleep.
The next morning, Pike finds Cole hungover and expresses concern over his increased drinking. Cole stays silent, and Pike tells him that he wishes they had a better relationship. Cole asks Pike about Jordan. He is surprised to learn that Cole has not seen Jordan since the prior afternoon.
