Julian tries not to think about Dahlia leaving but doesn’t like the uncertainty in Dahlia’s voice when she talks about the new show. He finally tells Dahlia what he wants for winning the carnival game competition at the Harvest Festival: for Dahlia to tell him if she is falling in love with him too. Dahlia admits that she is falling in love with Julian as they have sex in his car, but just after they finish, a police officer knocks on the window and tells them to come out.
Dahlia panics because the police officer is not the one she recognizes as Lily’s friend, who had agreed to help them with the prank. Julian promises he will protect her whatever happens as she begins to regret admitting her feelings and starts to push Julian away.
They get out of the car to find Deputy Roberts, a man who already has a personal vendetta against Julian. He arrests them both and takes them to a holding cell for the night.
Deputy Roberts releases them after spoiling the prank Dahlia had planned. He releases them to their mothers, a fate they find worse than jail time; Rosa is furious, and Josefina tries to talk her down.
